Counseling and issuing of warning letters procedure is as follows
- Failure to comply on due date First warning counseled by the financial controller
- Failure to comply by the beginning of the preceding term (three weeks after first letter), second letter of warning and counseled by director
- Failure to comply within two weeks of term starting, third letter of warning issued and counseled by principal. It will be explained to the student that if they do not amended the situation with two weeks further action will be taken. The student will be made aware that if the non-payment of fees has not been rectified that a fourth and final warning will be implemented. At this time, the student will be advised of the fourth step.
- Failure to comply the student will be counseled by the Director and Principal and the student will receive a letter, which stipulates intention to report. The contents of this letter will state that the student has failed to meet the requirements for non-payment of fees. An intention to report letter will be given to student. The student will be advised that they have 21 working days to appeal this decision following the Complaints and Appeals procedure.
- If the student does not wish to access the complaints and appeals procedure within this time frame or withdraws, or the process has been completed and is in favor of the registered provider AGA will notify DEEWR through PRISMS intent to cancel for non-payment as per Code of Conduct.
- If fees have not been collected by the due date interest will be charged at the rate of $50/week until such time they have been paid in full.
- If a new payment plain has been approved, interest will only be charged until such time that the first payment is made.
Intervention Strategy
The intervention strategy will be implemented from the first counseling meeting. Student will receive a letter stating the intervention strategy, which will be implemented. E.G. opportunity to pay fees,
Second meeting and letter of non-compliance for non-payment of fees, student will be notified that if a new payment plain is not followed they will receive a third letter.
Third meeting and letter of non-compliance for non-payment of fees, the student’s fees will be recalculated to facilitate monthly payments.
During this time students will be able to continue their academic and practical studies. However if there has been non-payment of fees students will not be entitled to play on the course.
