We have --- - been granted permission from Griffith University to include the following statement.

The Diploma of Sport (Development) in Golf is a qualification from the National Sport Industry Training Package. The Diploma of Sport (Development) is nationally accredited course (SRS50506). The program provides graduates with opportunities to enter the golf and sport industries. The program is primarily designed for students who wish to develop their golf skills and techniques, to pursue a career as a golf coach, and who desire a formal sport qualification that will be recognized by the golf industry and clients worldwide. The program includes regular golf lessons at AGA's teaching facility based at the Robina Woods golf course, as well as on-course lessons and membership at two of Australia’s leading golfing facilities - Robina Woods and The Colonial golf courses. The diploma is the first stepping-stone towards undergraduate or bachelor degrees in a variety of sports qualifications. This is the ideal place to prepare yourself for university.

Incorporated in the class sessions AGA enlists professional --- - consultants to lecture on sport and performance psychology and sports nutrition as well as --- - Pilates sessions aimed at sports conditioning. --- - Delivery and Assessment – Is a combination of in class tuition, on-course and driving range --- - lessons, practical observation, group and individual exercises and demonstration of --- - knowledge and skills. --- - Assessments, workbooks, rules tests and record keeping of handicap cards are some --- - requirements needed for completion. You will be required to run weekly competitions amongst --- - other students, which will allow you to impart the skills and knowledge you acquire into practice. --- - Knowledge and Skills Gained – people and self management, business requirements, teaching --- - techniques for athletes, budgeting, supervising sports events, planning implementing and --- - evaluating a fitness and recovery program, psychological development of athletes and to a large --- - extent supplementary skills and knowledge.

Recognition of prior learning is available to provide credit for existing skills, qualifications and knowledge of students and this process is undertaken on arrival at AGA, following an application by the student. Note that for overseas' students, (i) RPL may impact on the duration of the student's visa. If the RPL is granted before visa grant, AGA will advise on the actual net course duration (as reduced by RPL). If the RPL is granted after visa grant, AGA will report the change in course duration. Note that it is a condition of a student visa that the student must be involved in fulltime study and that if they finish their course early, the student must enroll in another CRICOS-registered course or depart Australia immediately unless they have been given authorization by DIAC to remain in Australia. (ii) An RPL will not be granted where it may result in the student having less than a fulltime study load (minimum 20 hours per week).
Note : For students attending with school aged dependents, these dependents will be required to pay full fees if they are enrolled in either a government or non-government school.
Delivery - Delivery is by a combination of in-class tuition, self-paced learning, small group and practical exercises in the classroom, university gym, supervised on-course, at the driving range, and at a first aid training facility.
Assessment - Competency is assessed through workbook exercises, oral presentations, reports, skills and rules tests, the student’s handicap record, observation-demonstration checklists, completion of a first aid certificate, completion of a gym based conditioning program, and self-assessment using a player log.
